Island Press, at Washington University in St. Louis, is a collaborative print workshop committed to creating innovative multiples and advancing the printmaking field through the integration of research and education. The press is project driven, tapping into the place where an artist’s creative research intersects with the language of printmaking, setting up unique opportunities for experimentation with technology, scale and scope. Island Press invites two established artists each year to work in residence for one week with the master printer and students in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. There is an annual fellowship residency for an emerging artist as well as a robust internship program for assistant printers.
