Lesley Dill’s most recent editions with Tamarind Institute, Hummingbird Dress and Hummingbird Dress: Red, continue the artist’s dialogue with ink on paper that began in the early 1990s after an extended stay in India. These two prints explore a number of her established motifs, from women’s clothing to birds to the written word. For decades Dill has used dresses as a central metaphor for the spiritual body and feminine power.
