Leonardo Drew’s massive bas-reliefs and installations are raw, abstracted, pseudo-geometric objects that envelop the viewer in an entropic world devoid of signifiers or content. They appear to be made of found objects, but the artist invariably begins with new materials such as wood, fibers, metal and earth, which he subjects to chemical and physical decay.1 His goal is to impart “emotional and physical weight”2 to the final work. The titles are sequential numbers that suggest no particular interpretation.
